Nablus: In a joyful ceremony, the Latin Patriarchate School – St. Joseph school in Nablus inaugurated the Environmental Garden on Monday, January 27, 2014. This project is part of the rural development initiative aimed at creating green school gardens. The event was attended by
the project coordinator from Rural Development, representatives from other participating schools, and the students' parents.
The garden was prepared in collaboration with the Environmental Club, which has been working for over ten years in various environmental fields to raise students' awareness about preserving the rich Palestinian environment. The project was supervised by science teachers and students of the school.
The ceremony commenced with the Palestinian national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech from the school's principal, Mrs. Abeer Hanna, expressing gratitude to everyone for their efforts in preserving the Palestinian environment. She emphasized that there is still much work to be done to achieve a green school environment, hoping that the project will continue to progress.
The event featured various segments, including musical performances led by the teacher Nidal Kalbona and student Maya Abu Al-Araies. Additionally, students Ghali Shahab and Ameed Abdulhadi from the tenth-grade presented a rap about environmental conservation. The Environmental Club staged a play promoting energy conservation and performed a presentation titled "The Beautiful Palestinian Sunbird."
In conclusion, everyone visited the school's garden. This achievement reflects the collective and continuous effort of the dedicated teaching staff and beloved students, guided by the school's director, Mrs. Abeer Kasabreh.
