Beit Jala: The General Administration of Latin Patriarchate Schools in Palestine conducted two separate workshops. The first involved English language teachers to discuss the new curriculum for the upcoming academic year for grades one through six. The second workshop focused on computer science teachers, addressing electronically supported educational programming through the Schoology software. The latter part of the session concentrated on the official school website and how to activate and utilize it effectively.
The new English language curriculum, MACMILAN, was chosen after thorough analysis and evaluation by Mr. Suheil Dabis and a committee of English language teachers. The selected curriculum was deemed suitable for providing students with a comprehensive understanding of
the English language. Workshops were designed to train and implement this curriculum effectively, with a special emphasis on planning and execution.
The workshops were inaugurated by Father Dr. Faisal Hajazin, the General Director of Schools in Palestine. He conveyed an educational message on the responsible use of the internet and social media for educational purposes, highlighting the role of schools in harnessing the internet for the benefit of students. Father Dr. Hajazin stressed the importance of online communication in shaping the students' personalities and enhancing their educational experience.
The English language workshop, supervised by Mr. George Abu Dayeh, provided valuable insights into adapting to the new curriculum. With his extensive experience, Mr. Abu Dayeh offered guidance on navigating the upcoming changes effectively.
Mr. Khalil Handal, the computer science teacher at the Latin Patriarchate School in Beit Jala, presented a detailed report on the workings of the Schoology software. Additionally, Mr. Wasim Kasabra elucidated the significance of the official school website and electronic media, emphasizing its role in disseminating information to a broader local and global audience.
