Recognizing the agricultural richness of the Palestinian land, despite challenges such as confiscations and the separation barrier, the Latin Patriarchate School in Jifna initiated a unique project to address the scarcity of agricultural lands. In this endeavor, second-grade students, guided by their teacher Maisoun, embarked on a collaborative agricultural project integrated into their English lessons.
The primary objective of the project was to explore agricultural practices, comprehend their benefits, and recognize their significance in Palestinian society. Conducted entirely in English, the lesson aimed to familiarize students with agricultural terminology and introduce them to new English language terms related to farming.
The Latin Patriarchate School in Jifna places a strong emphasis on providing students with practical experiences that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications. Given the challenges of limited agricultural lands, the project sought to instill in students the fundamental principles of agriculture while simultaneously exposing them to English language terms associated with the field.
This initiative not only deepened the students' understanding of agriculture but also honed their language skills in English, contributing significantly to their overall educational development. By applying lessons in a practical context, the school created a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters a meaningful connection between theoretical knowledge and practical skills
