"Faith is the ability to see the world as a place inhabited by the presence of something," declared Father Philip Morlacci, Director of Pastoral Care and Religious Education, when he met with Christian education teachers in Rome, urging them to learn to see the world through the eyes of Jesus. He added that delving into the intricacies of life has become challenging in a world that seems to make everything clear and obvious, especially with today's youth.
Father Morlacci called on teachers to educate young people to understand the true meaning of life, encouraging them to explore and enrich it with hope. "Hope is understanding the true meaning of life, understanding the present, and looking beyond, as artists and poets do," he said.
Continuing, he emphasized that artists and poets see things that no one else can see, inviting teachers to see the "unseen," which is the presence of God in the world. Father Morlacci declared, "A successful religious teacher is one who teaches the 'magic of life,' explaining and demonstrating that there is no human reality that God does not inhabit. Humans do not merely control their world; they are individuals.
capable of reading a message directed by God to the world. They are individuals capable of living, reading, and interpreting everything that is invisible."
Father Philip Morlacci concluded the meeting with a quote he took from Brazilian theologian Leonardo Boff: "A strong person can always read God in the world, even in the midst of the storm.
